Q5D is seeking a practically minded engineer to work as part of a talented engineering team to use Q5D technology to develop products and processes for Q5D’s customers.

Q5D is a young, fast growing company that is developing robotic machine tools to add electrical function to products in the aerospace, automotive and other industries. Q5D’s technology uses additive manufacturing techniques and laser-sintered printed electronics combined with sophisticated CAD/CAM software to automate manufacturing.

The successful candidate will be reporting to the company CTO, and will be using Q5D’s tools to develop new processes and products for Q5D’s customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. To work with Q5D’s customers to develop new products and processes
  2. Use Q5D’s tools and provide feedback to the design teams to improve the product
  3. Programming CAM and using Parametric CAD as part of the Q5D design team and guiding customers with product development.
  4. Design and run tests as well as build and maintain test rigs and apparatus
  5. To write reports and communicate effectively internally and with customers
  6. Work within a project management environment
  7. To write risk assessments and method statements

Renumeration

  • A salary of £20-40k

Experience

  • Experience in delivering engineering projects
  • Programming knowledge (at least 1 high level language)
  • Experience using CAD/CAM software
  • Experience of working in a project management environment
  • Practical experience, in a workshop or at home
