We are seeking clever people to work as part of an inventive and creative engineering team to help design and build robotic machine tools. These roles will report to the company CTO working as part of a growing team of software and design engineers to develop the CAM toolset needed to realise the designs on the robotic tools. This post will work with the software team and design engineers to develop the control software and toolpath generation system. The main tasks for this role will be to create and maintain tools which can create machine-code, eg G-code. Desirable knowledge of Geometry kernels (Parasolid), Post-processors, CAD model manipulation eg STEP/IGS/OpenCascade.
Q5D is a young, fast growing company that is developing robotic machinery to add electrical function to products in the aerospace, automotive and other industries. Q5D’s technology uses additive manufacturing techniques, laser-sintered printed electronics combined with sophisticated CAD/CAM software to automate manufacturing.
Good programming skills
A relevant degree (such as computer Science, Physics or Mathematics, Engineering) or its equivalent
Good mathematical skills
Knowledge of algorithms, particularly geometry transformation and mesh manipulation
Experience of working in a project environment
3D CAD/CAM packages in particular Siemens NX (post configurator)
Planning and delivering projects
